She knows the characters
Rebecca knows Ash, Elias and the world around them well enough to notice when a reaction, line or decision feels off, even when it looks fine on the page.
Meet the editor
The person who gets the manuscript before the readers do, knows when something feels wrong, and is trusted with the books at the stage where every detail still matters.
More than a final check
Rebecca has been involved with The Compulsion Trilogy from the start. By the time a manuscript reaches her, she already knows the characters, the history behind them and the details that need to stay consistent from one book to the next.
That means she is not just looking for missing commas or awkward sentences. She can spot when a character does not sound like themselves, when a detail clashes with something established earlier, or when a scene is not landing the way it should.
What she brings to the books
Rebecca knows Ash, Elias and the world around them well enough to notice when a reaction, line or decision feels off, even when it looks fine on the page.
Continuity slips, repetition, grammar, pacing and the small details that are easy to stop seeing after spending months inside the same manuscript.
If something does not work, she says so. The point is never to make the books sound like somebody else. It is to make the version that reaches readers stronger.
Why she matters
There are scenes, details and choices in this trilogy that changed because Rebecca questioned them, caught something I had missed or made me look at a passage again. She is one of the very few people who sees the work before it is finished and has enough knowledge of the series to tell me when something is not right.
Her name is on this page because “the editor” does not come close to describing how much she contributes.
